Description
No 4 High Street is an early 18th century house that stands two storeys tall with attics, constructed from brick and topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring three modern dormers. The building has a dentil brick eaves cornice and a rendered band between the storeys. It includes five windows with original glazing bars. The central entrance is marked by a round-headed reeded doorcase, which has panelled reveals and an ornamental semi-circular fanlight above. The door itself consists of six fielded panels.
Nos 2 to 4, along with the White Lion Public House, form a group, and the house also groups with Nos 2, 3, and 2 to 4 on Church Gate and the High Bridge on Bridge Street.
