Description

Roman Lodge is an early 19th-century house located on Mill Lane in Tydd St. Mary. The house is constructed of red brick with a slate roof and has two gable stacks. The gables are finished with rendered and coped details. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The central doorway features a decorative panelled door, a fanlight with radiating glazing bars, a fluted and reeded reveal, a moulded surround with an impost and key blocks. The key block is decorated with a carved lion. To either side of the doorway are single, single-pane sash windows with margin lights. Three similar sashes are positioned above these. All windows have flush wedge lintels. A late 19th-century conservatory of moulded ashlar, wood, and glazed materials with a roof is attached to the left side. A side doorway to the conservatory has a double door and a pediment, supported by a pair of brackets.
