Description

Chapel Farmhouse, formerly known as Wykeham Chapel, is a farmhouse that dates from the late 17th century and mid 18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick with some limestone ashlar dressings. The roof is covered with concrete tiles and features rendered, coped, and tumbled gables. The main south front has two projecting gable stacks, each with three tall shafts.

The building has two storeys and a garret, with a seven-bay south front that includes outer blind bays beyond the single projecting stacks. The fenestration between the stacks includes a doorway to the left, which may have a 20th-century doorcase. This doorcase is pedimented and pilastered, with an entablature and a partially glazed, panelled door. To the right of the door is a single glazing bar sash window.

Above the door, there is a central glazing bar sash window between the floors, with two additional glazing bar sashes above it. An oculus and a small pediment containing a sundial are located above. The west gable end features two cross mullion glazing bar casements on each floor, both with flush wedge lintels, and a three-light stone mullion window in the garret with a moulded cornice. The east gable end has glazing bar double doors with an overlight to the left and a cross mullion casement to the right, along with two cross mullion casements above and a three-light stone mullion window in the garret.
