Description
Bedingham Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of red brick and features a steeply-pitched roof made of smut pantiles, hipped at the south-west corner. The building has two storeys and attics, with an L-shaped plan.
The south elevation showcases two shaped gables and consists of four bays, each with 3-light casements that include a transom. The windows are set in raised brick surrounds, with the ground floor openings featuring gauged brick arches. Some openings have been blocked, including one on the ground floor and two on the first floor. There are platbands at the first floor level and at the gable springing, along with a brick dentil cornice. The east gable is shaped and supported by moulded brick kneelers, and there is an external gable stack that is corbelled out above ground floor level, with weathered offsets and a rebuilt top.
A later two-storey lean-to has been added in the north-east angle. The east wall contains 2 and 3-light casements, with a central doorway and a blocked window opening above. The eaves are sawtooth brick. The shaped north gable features an internal chimney stack, two attic casements with cross-glazing bars, and two blocked openings on the first floor.
On the west facade, there is a shaped gable over an advanced central bay, which has a 3-light casement on each floor. The windows are set in raised surrounds, and plain brick pilasters flank the central bay. The fenestration generally consists of 2 and 3-light casements. There are two later projecting porches with shaped gables flanking the central bay; the northern porch is lower and has a blocked doorway with a square brick dripmould and a panel in a chamfered recess above. The southern porch features a doorway with a rubbed arch and a rectangular fanlight. There is also a doorway at the north-west corner with a Gothick panelled door and a moulded architrave. The building has brick modillion eaves and an off-centre ridge chimney stack located to the south.
