Description

Oakleigh House is an early 18th century and early 19th century farmhouse situated on Main Street, Weston. It is constructed of red brick, partly rendered, with slate, pantile and 20th century concrete tile roofs, and features four gable stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan.

The front range, facing the street, is two storeys high and three bays wide. It has a central doorway with a painted surround and a 20th century glazed door. Single plain sash windows are located on either side of the doorway. Above are three smaller plain sash windows. The rear wing, now rendered, is single storey plus attics, with three bays. It has a central 20th century glazed door, flanked by single plain sashes. Above is a tripartite plain sash window within a through eaves dormer. To the right is a three-light fixed light window under a wooden lintel, and to the left a single-storey extension with a plank door and a casement window, both with segment heads.

Inside, the North East room on the ground floor retains early 18th century dado panelling. The rear wing incorporates a stick baluster staircase.
