Description
Nook House and No 36 is a house and shop located on the south side of High Street in Metheringham. It was built in 1780 with alterations made around 1855. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and features a slate hipped roof with a single brick stack. The structure has quoins and an off-centre doorway that is framed by ashlar pilaster surrounds and topped with an entablature hood. The door is a two-fielded panel design. To the left of the doorway is a glazing bar sash window with an ashlar lintel and keystone. To the right, there is a projecting shop with a central recessed door. Above the shop, there is a central glazing bar sash flanked by wider sashes, with the left sash featuring glazing bars. Above this, there is a smaller central glazing bar sash with single glazing bar sashes on either side, all having ashlar lintels with keystones.
