Description

No. 38 High Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and features a pantile ridge roof, stone coped gables with kneelers, and two brick gable stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays. The central doorway is framed by an ashlar pilaster surround, with brackets and a hood above. The door itself is a six-fielded panel design, topped by a semi-circular fanlight with Gothick glazing bars. On either side of the doorway are single plain sash windows with ashlar lintels that have keystones, and above are three similar sash windows. At the rear, there is a lower two-storey wing.
