Description

Gables Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a hipped and gabled pantiled roof. The building features single ridge and gable stacks with moulded cornices. The two-story, three-bay front has a central pent roofed porch with a planked door set within a moulded four-centred arched surround. A 3-light mullioned window of the 20th century is to the left, and a 3-light ovolo moulded mullioned window from the 17th century is to the right. The first floor displays a similar window to the right, and a further 20th-century mullioned window to the left.
