Description
26 Newton Way is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features ashlar quoins. The roof is made of pantiles, with a single gable and two brick stacks at the ridge. The front of the house is irregular, with two storeys and four bays.
The entrance consists of a half-glazed door that is sheltered by a 20th-century open porch, flanked by a single 20th-century three-light casement window under timber lintels. To the left of the door is another half-glazed door, which is covered by a 20th-century gabled hood, and beyond it is a three-light casement window. On the first floor, there is a pair of 19th-century two-light casement windows at the eaves, flanked by single eaves dormer windows that have gabled roofs, boarded cheeks, and gables. Inside, the right-hand room retains simply chamfered beams.
