Description
Asholme Lodge is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is built from coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and red brick dressings. The roof is covered with pantiles and has two gable stacks and a single ridge stack. The building has a T-plan layout and an irregular four-bay front that stands two stories tall.
The entrance is an off-centre 19th-century stone gabled porch. To the right of the porch is a two-light casement window, while to the left there is a three-light casement and two additional two-light casements, one of which is located on the side of the cross wing. All ground floor windows feature 19th-century segmental brick heads. On the first floor, there are two two-light casements and another similar window in the cross wing, all positioned at the eaves.
Inside, the lodge retains an inglenook fireplace with a simply chamfered bressummer. The first floor also features timber-framed partitions that exhibit early 18th-century characteristics.
