Description

No. 13 Minster Yard is a house built around 1736, with later alterations from the late 18th century and 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and is colourwashed, featuring a hipped slate roof and a single brick ridge stack. It has moulded wooden eaves and stands two storeys plus attics, with three bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes.

To the left of the façade is a flat-roofed stucco porch from the 19th century, which includes an 8-panel door and an overlight. To the right of the porch are two sashes, and above them are three smaller sashes. There is also a segment-headed dormer above. The rear elevation is nearly symmetrical and primarily features glazing bar sashes, with the ground floor having two taller sashes on the right, each with cast-iron balconies.

Inside, the house has an 18th-century stairwell with fielded panelled wainscot, pedimented doorcases, a modillion cornice, and a panelled ceiling. The stairs are adorned with turned balusters. The drawing room features fielded panelled wainscot, a dentilled cornice, and a marble fireplace with a shouldered architrave.
