Description

This is a house located at 1 Greestone Place in Lincoln, built in the early 19th century and incorporating an 18th-century stable. The structure is made of brick with a stucco front and a pantile roof featuring two gable stacks. It has a plinth, a moulded wooden eaves cornice, and coped gables. The house has two storeys, plus attics and a basement, and consists of three bays. The central entrance features a pedimented wooden doorcase with a part-glazed six-panel door, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. Above the entrance, there are three more glazing bar sash windows, and above those, two segment-headed dormers. There is also a single 20th-century window in the basement.

Inside, the house has a central entrance hall with a moulded cornice and a wooden dogleg stair with four flights, square newels, a moulded handrail, and vase and stem balusters. The ground floor room to the right includes a moulded elliptical arched recess with panelled pilasters, flanked by panelled cupboard doors, a moulded cornice, and a mid-19th-century marble fireplace, along with windows that have shutters. The left room features a simpler mid-19th-century fireplace. The first-floor rooms have cornices, early 19th-century wooden fireplaces, and beaded panelled doors, while the second-floor rooms have fielded two-panel doors.
