Description
No. 14 Minster Yard is a house, now divided into five flats, dating from around 1750, with a western addition added around 1800. The building underwent alterations in the early and mid-19th century. It is constructed of stone and is stuccoed throughout, featuring gabled and hipped slate roofs with two gable stacks and one side wall stack. The main block has a moulded eaves cornice, a parapet, and coped gables. The single-bay addition has a rusticated ground floor and a band. The building is two storeys high and has four bays, arranged in an L-plan.
The symmetrical main block includes a central canted balustraded porch from the mid-19th century, which has a reset stucco doorcase and a pediment supported by brackets. There is a plain window on each side of the porch, and above it, a single glazing bar sash window. On either side of the porch, there are two-storey canted bay windows, each with three glazing bar sashes on both floors, with the ground floor sashes being larger. The addition to the right features a single sash window on each floor.
Inside, there is a staircase with turned balusters and a single panelled room.
