Description

No. 19 Minster Yard is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations from the late 18th and 19th centuries, and an addition around 1900. It possibly includes parts of a 17th-century stone house. The building is constructed of brick, featuring stone and stucco dressings, and has a steeply pitched plain tile roof with a large brick ridge stack. Notable architectural details include a first-floor band, a string course, a coped parapet, and gables. The house is two storeys plus attics and consists of a single bay.

The east front displays a moulded wooden doorcase with a hood on brackets and a half-glazed door to the right. To the left, there is an early 19th-century canted flat-roofed bay window. Above this, a central Venetian window features a keystone and a splayed lintel. Further up, there is a segment-headed dormer with a two-light casement. The interior has not been inspected.
