Description

These are two cottages located on the north side of St John’s Street in Wainfleet All Saints. Built in the late 18th century and early 19th century, with later 20th-century alterations, they are constructed of red brick with pantile roofs. The roof to the right-hand cottage (number 31) is slightly higher, featuring a brick coping and tumbled gable, and a single gable stack. There are two ridge stacks and a single stack at the rear.

The two-storey, seven-bay front includes three 18th-century bays to the left and four 19th-century bays to the right. A doorway on the left has a segmental head, overlight, and partially glazed door. To the left of this is a plain sash window, while a further glazing bar sash window sits to the right, both with cambered heads. A doorway to the right has a segmental head, a blind overlight, and a 20th-century door. This doorway is flanked by a single plain sash window, with a further plain sash window to the right, all with segmental heads. Above, there are two glazing bar sashes to the left and three plain sashes to the right.
