Description
This is a pair of houses with a shop, built in the late 18th century and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and feature a hipped plain tile roof with a wall stack on the left side.
The exterior consists of three storeys plus attics and a cellar, with a three-bay front that has a moulded and modillion eaves cornice. The entrance is off-centre, accessed by three steps, and features a small overlight set in a dentilled pedimented doorcase with small half-round engaged pilasters. Flanking the entrance are single three-light plain sash windows, with arches leading to the cellar openings below. To the left, there is a 20th-century shop front with a corner entrance.
On the first floor, there are three three-light plain sash windows, and on the second floor, there are three smaller similar windows. All windows are topped with segmental brick arches. The roof includes three gabled glazing bar sash dormers. The interior of No. 2 retains a stick baluster stair and some contemporary joinery. The interior of No. 1 has not been inspected.
