Unitarian Church

The Unitarian Church, built in 1819, is a Unitarian chapel located on Spain Lane in Boston. It features red brick in Flemish bond, with ashlar quoins, a plinth, and dressings. The side walls are made of brown brick, and the building has a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves supported by paired brackets.

The exterior is two storeys high with a three-bay front. It has a stone plinth and a central set of double doors with flush panels and a Gothick fanlight above. There are four stone steps leading up to the entrance, which is flanked by single glazing bar windows, each topped with Gothick fanlights. On the first floor, there is a central shaped stone plaque with a worn inscription, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows that have segmental shaped heads on the top sashes. All openings feature double recesses, with semicircular heads on the ground floor and segmental heads on the first floor, along with painted ashlar impost and sill blocks.

The side elevations have three tall sash windows on the ground floor and three blank spaces on the upper floor, which are adorned with cambered brick arches. The rear elevation displays a central ashlar plaque inscribed 'Built MDCCCXIX' and two round-headed Gothick sash windows.

Inside, the chapel retains a panelled rear gallery supported by fluted Doric columns, along with a contemporary stick baluster staircase.
