Description
Nos. 2 and 3 London Road are a pair of houses built in the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and feature a slate roof with coped gables and three brick stacks at the rear valley.
The exterior consists of two storeys plus attics, with a seven-bay front arranged in a 1:6 pattern. There is a first-floor band and a stepped band at the second floor, topped with a stone-coped parapet that ramps up at the ends. The entrance features two doors with six panels each, accompanied by four-paned overlights with segmental heads. These doors are flanked by single glazing bar sashes, with an additional sash to the right. On the first floor, there are seven glazing bar sashes. The roof includes four dormers with 19th-century top-hung lights and leaded segmental heads. All openings are adorned with brick segmental arches that have keystones.
Inside, the houses retain some panelled doors.
