Description

The Ship Inn is an 18th-century public house. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a pantile roof and two gable stacks. The rendered gable walls are notable. The building is two storeys high and has a five-bay front, featuring a plinth, a first-floor band, and a brick dentilled eaves course. A central panelled door with a plain overlight is flanked by pairs of sash windows. The five first-floor windows are also plain sashes. All openings have brick segmental heads with keystones. A decorative wrought-iron sign bracket is present. The interior was not inspected. The inn was first licensed in 1815.
