Description
No. 12 London Road is a former vicarage, now converted into flats, dating from the late 18th century with alterations made in the 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a hipped slate roof with a tall wall stack at the left-hand end.
The exterior has three storeys and a six-bay front, highlighted by a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The central bay projects forward and includes a 19th-century panelled door with an overlight, set within a pedimented moulded doorcase that has panelled reveals and carved brackets. This door is flanked by pairs of sash windows. The sixth bay on the right features a circular window with a terracotta surround and a large triple keystone. The first floor has five sash windows and another circular window, while the second floor contains three smaller sash windows, two 2-light casements, and an additional circular window. All the sash windows and casements are topped with rubbed brick arches that have fluted keystones.
The interior has not been inspected. Historically, this building served as the vicarage for the Skirbeck Quarter.
