Description

No. 10, London Road is a late 18th-century house, later altered in the 19th and 20th centuries, and now used as flats. The building is constructed of red brown brick, with the front rendered and lined to resemble ashlar. It has a pantile roof, brick coped gables with some tumbling, one reduced gable stack, and a ridge stack. The building follows a T-shaped layout.

The two-storey, three-storey plus attic building has a four-bay front with a small stone band at the base and cellar vents below. There is a modillion eaves cornice. A broad, elliptical carriage arch is situated on the left-hand side. To the right is a 19th-century four-panel door with an overlight and side lights, set within a broad doorcase featuring a moulded cornice resting on large scrolled brackets. Flanking the door are single tripartite sash windows. The first floor has four plain sashes, and the second floor has four similar windows, all with flat heads. Four two-light dormers with segmental heads are visible in the roof. The interior was not inspected.
