Description
No. 107 High Street is a house built in 1718. It features red brick in Flemish bond and has an old plain tiled roof with brick coped tumbled gables and an L-form gable stack. The building has three storeys, plus a cellar and attic, and a two-bay front with brick bands on the first and second floors, topped by an ashlar coped parapet.
On the right side, there is a six-panel door accessed by three steps, complete with a contemporary door knocker. Above the door is a traceried overlight framed by a pedimented narrow pilastered surround. Each floor has two glazing bar sash windows with flat brick wedge lintels, while the upper windows are smaller divided sashes. A single leaded dormer is located behind the parapet. To the left, there is a cast hopper and downpipe dated 1718, featuring an emblem. The rear of the building has a lower wing with a steeply pitched roof and a tall stack.
Inside, the house retains a wide dogleg stair with turned balusters and full-height panelling in the rear first-floor room.
