Description

The Butterfly Vase in the Chinese garden is a garden ornament from the late 19th century, likely of Chinese or Japanese origin. It is made of bronze and features a tall design with delicate overlapping petals, adorned with butterflies in shallow relief around its sides. The vase stands on a roughly hewn circular stone base. This piece is part of a collection of ornaments gathered for the garden by the first Lord Crawshaw around 1890 to 1900.
