LONG WHATTON WHATTON HOUSE GROUNDS SK 42 SE 5/216 Butterfly vase in Chinese garden GV II

Garden ornament. Late C19. Of Chinese or Japanese origin. Bronze vase formed of tall delicate overlapping petals, with butterflies scattered in shallow relief around sides. On a roughly hewn circular stone base. One of a series of ornaments collected for the garden by the first Lord Crawshaw, c1890-1900.
