Description
The Fish Cauldron in the Chinese Garden is a garden ornament from the late 19th century, likely of Chinese or Japanese origin. It is a bronze cauldron, which is open at the bottom, supported by four squat legs. The sides of the cauldron feature relief decorations depicting waves and two large fish. It stands on a roughly hewn stone base. This piece is part of a collection of ornaments gathered for the garden by the first Lord Crawshaw around 1890 to 1900.
