Description
New Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1772, with later 19th-century alterations. It is constructed from coursed and squared ironstone, featuring limestone ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The building has two gable and one ridge brick stacks and is two storeys high with three bays, arranged in an L-plan.
The south front showcases a central porch with Doric columns and a moulded entablature, leading to a late 19th-century four-panel door set in plain jambs with an overlight. This door is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. Above the porch, there is a central two-light glazing bar casement, flanked by single three-light glazing bar casements. All windows are topped with keystoned ashlar lintels.
On the east side, there is an off-centre door with a 19th-century gabled hood, flanked by casements on either side. To the left, there is a 19th-century casement with a segmental head, and to the right, there is another door. A datestone inscribed 'MWP 1772' is located to the right. Above, to the left, are two additional casements. The adjoining mid-19th-century farm buildings are not included in this listing.
