Description
Dale Farmhouse and adjoining stables is a late 17th-century building that was altered in the mid-18th century and extended and refenestrated in the mid and late 19th century. It is constructed of brick and colourwashed, featuring steep pitched corrugated iron roofs, a gable band, and three ridge stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high with four bays and has an L-plan layout.
The west front has an off-centre glazed door with a segmental head, flanked on the left by two two-light casements and on the right by a three-light casement. To the right of this, there is another two-light casement with a segmental head. Above, on the left, is a brick band, with a two-light casement in an altered opening in the gable. To the right, there is a cross eaves dormer with a two-light casement, followed by two similar dormers with two-light sliding sashes.
The south gable features a loading door with a segmental head above. The rear of the building has a large off-centre lean-to addition with two casements, and a door with two casements in the return angle to the left. Further to the left, there is a pair of doors, and to the right, a lean-to glazed porch over a door and a casement. Above this porch, there are two 19th-century casements, and to the right, there is a 20th-century casement in the gable.
