Description

Ivy Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared ironstone, featuring limestone ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The building has first and second floor bands and two rendered brick gable stacks. It stands three storeys high and has three bays. The front of the house includes a central doorcase with a keystoned round head and imposts, featuring a 20th-century six-panel door with a fanlight. This door is flanked by two late 19th-century canted bay windows, each containing three plain sash windows. Above these, there are three plain sash windows, and on the top floor, there are three smaller plain sash windows. All of the sash windows have projecting stone surrounds with keystones.
