Description

Burley Cottage is a cottage dating from 1818, with later 19th-century alterations and additions. It is constructed of coursed and squared ironstone and brick, with ashlar dressings and slate roofs. Three brick gable stacks are present, along with wood modillioned eaves. The two-storey, two-bay front elevation features a central doorway with a blind overlight and a half-round hood supported by a keystone and impost. Single plain sash windows, with splayed heads and reeded keystones, flank the doorway. Above, two further similar sash windows are visible. The north gable displays a door to the left and two 20th-century casement windows to the right. A datestone inscribed 'DRM 1818' is situated above. A rear wing incorporates sash windows to each floor on its left side.
