Description
The Old Rectory is a house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of ironstone ashlar and features an artificial stone slate roof, with brick and stone stacks on either side. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in five bays. The central doorway is framed by a plain stone surround and features a 19th-century half-glazed door with a rectangular overlight above. On either side of the doorway are windows with plain stone surrounds, which contain 19th-century plate glass sash windows. The first-floor windows are similar but still have their original glazing bars. There are three dormers, each with 6-pane sashes. The gable ends are coped and have kneelers. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to have been remodelled in the 20th century.
