Description
The Hollies is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick, with the front rendered, and features a 20th-century ridged tile roof, along with brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a two-unit lobby entry plan, which has been extended by one unit to the right. It is two stories high with a four-window range. The entrance front includes a six-panel door, which was formerly central, now located in a 20th-century timber porch. There are 12-pane sash windows on both the ground and first floors. To the right, there is a two-story, one-window extension, and to the left, a single-story extension. The cottage has an ironstone plinth. Inside, there are back-to-back inglenooks, with one having been removed and the other featuring a chamfered bressumer.
