Description
The Grange is an early 19th-century farmhouse located on the south side of Main Road in Nether Broughton. It has been extended and altered in the 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a plain-tile roof from the 20th century, along with brick stacks at the ends and ridge. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, it has been extended by one bay to the right.
The farmhouse is two stories high and has a three-window range. The central door, which dates from the 20th century, is topped with an overlight and has a segmental-arched head. The ground and first floors feature 19th-century horned sash windows with similar heads. The eaves are dentilled in brick. To the right, there is a two-story extension with a single window and a central bay window, along with a sash window on the first floor. At the rear left, there is a single-storey attached former dairy. The interior has not been inspected.
