Description
Horseshoe Cottage is a cottage dating from the early to mid-18th century, which has been altered and extended in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a concrete tile roof with brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high with a two-window range. On the ground floor, there are two-light casement windows to the left and right of the centre, a one-light casement window on the ground and first floor to the right, a small square one-light window on the ground floor far left, and a two-light casement window on the first floor left. All windows have wood lintels. To the right, there is a two-storey, one-window 20th-century extension. The entrance is located at the rear. Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a cambered stop-chamfered bressumer. It was formerly thatched.
