Description
Dairy Cottage, located 250 meters south of Belvoir Castle, is a building dating from around 1810, likely designed by James Wyatt. The structure is rendered and colorwashed, probably over ironstone, and features slate roofs. The central block is a two-storey octagonal shape with a three-bay open loggia at the front, which connects to rectangular pavilions on either side. The central block has late 20th-century casement windows on the ground floor and one original quatrefoil oculus on each side of the first floor. The roof is pitched and octagonal. The pavilions each have three trefoiled windows on their flanks and one similar window in the front gables, all set in recessed arches.
