Description
The model dairy, located approximately 60 metres east of Blaise Castle House, was built in 1802 by John Nash. It features a single-depth plan with a picturesque style, constructed with render and limestone dressings, a rendered stack, a pantiled verandah, and a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic and has a three-window range. The apsidal end includes a fitted bench beneath an overhanging verandah, with a porch at the southwest doorway and a pantiled verandah to the northeast. It has diagonal lattice casement windows, three small eaves dormers, and diagonally-set stacks. The interior has not been inspected. Although designed to resemble a picturesque cottage, the dairy served a functional role in the economy of the house.
