Description
The tunnel, dating from around 1835, connects the churchyard of St Mary to the area beneath the rear of The Old Vicarage in Henbury, Bristol. It is constructed of rubble with brick arches, featuring copper-slag block coping and Pennant stone steps. The tunnel has a segmental-arched roof and is accessed by steps leading down from the churchyard. It was built to provide a public footpath that runs beneath the rear yard of The Old Vicarage.
