Description

Manor House is an early 19th-century house that was extended in the mid-19th century. It is built of red brick, which has been painted, and features a hipped slate roof with a brick ridge and both internal and lateral stacks. The house has a central staircase plan and is two stories high with a five-window range.

The main entrance consists of central double-leaf doors that are panelled and part-glazed, topped with an overlight and a flat-arched stone head featuring a key-block. This entrance is approached by two stone steps and is set within a three-bay porch that has open trellis work and is raised on the steps.

The façade includes a wide segmental-arched opening flanked by narrower round-arched openings, all covered by a curved felt roof that likely replaced the original lead. There are blank doors on either side of the porch, each with round-arched heads, imposts, and key blocks. The windows include 16-pane sash windows on the ground and first floors to the left, right, and centre, while the first floor features 12-pane sashes to the left and right of centre, all with flat-arched heads and key blocks.

To the right of the centre, there is a two-light cellar window with a wooden lintel, a plinth, and projecting boxed eaves. A two-storey extension is located at the far right, slightly set back, and features similar 16-pane sashes. There is also a further, lower two-storey extension set back again, which includes a six-panel back door with an overlight in a trellis porch. The interior has not been inspected.
