Description
The Crown and Plough Inn is a public house located in Long Clawson, dated 1730, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features rendered stone or brick with a slate roof and brick ridge and end stacks, designed in an L shape. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a three-window range. The windows on the ground and first floors are irregularly glazed with 20th-century designs and have minor surrounds. To the left of the centre on the first floor, there is a datestone inscribed with "SF/1730." To the left of this datestone, there is a single-light casement window, and below it, a slightly wider similar window. In the attic, there is a two-light casement window directly beneath the eaves. At the rear left, there is a wing that falls in height. The current entrance is located at the rear and features a six-panel, part-glazed door with a straight hood supported by brackets. Inside, the building has chamfered spine beams.
