Description
West End House is a former farmhouse dating to 1745, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish garden wall bond, featuring flared headers, and has a plain tile roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The building follows a three-unit plan and has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. A six-panel door is located to the right of the centre, accessed by three steps and set within a segmental-arched head. The ground and first floors feature 16-pane sash windows with segmental-arched heads. There are three hipped dormers in the attic, each containing a two-light casement with six small, rectangular panes of glass, some of which are old crown glass. A limestone datestone above the door bears the inscription "JM/1745." The house has an ironstone plinth with brick coping and brick-coped gables.
