Description
West End Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dated 1797, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a concrete tile roof with brick end stacks. The building is L-shaped and has three storeys with a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panel, part-glazed door topped with a fanlight, surrounded by a wood frame with fluted pilasters and a straight hood supported by brackets. On either side of the door are stone footscraper niches. The ground and first floors have 20th-century windows that replaced the original sash windows, while the second floor retains six-pane sash windows, all with segmental-arched brick heads. Above the central second-floor window is a slate datestone inscribed with W/WA/1797. The left side elevation has blank windows on the ground and first floors, also with segmental-arched heads. There is a two-storey wing at the rear left of the building. The interior has not been inspected.
