Description

The Old Rectory is an 18th-century house with later alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves. The building has a central entrance and staircase, with a single range and later extensions at the rear. There are two main stacks located towards each end of the house.

On the south elevation, the house has three storeys and a string course at the first floor. It has three window spaces, with the outer bays having blocked or blind windows on the first and second floors. The second floor features a 19th-century casement window, while the central bay has a sash window below and two sashes on the ground floor. There are traces of original window openings in the brickwork, indicating that it was formerly a five-bay front.

The central doorway is flanked by sidelights and is adorned with fluted Doric pilasters, reeded brackets with multiple guttae, and a mutule cornice. The door itself is a renewed partly glazed design with an overlight.
