Description
Lower Malt Barn is a small house dating from the early 17th century, with later alterations and changes made in the 20th century. The structure is timber-framed with painted brick infill, a brick lower extension, and a 20th-century brick outshut at the rear. It features a 20th-century tiled roof. The barn consists of four bays, with the right gable external stack removed and a second stack located left of centre. The entrance is in the right end bay, slightly displaced from its original position. The front elevation is single storey with an attic, showcasing 20th-century fenestration that includes three windows and three dormers. The framing is nearly complete, with three panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate, short diagonal braces to the post-head, and V-struts in the right end gable. Timber weathering is present over the windows.
