Description

This is a chest tomb from the early 19th century, located about 12 meters south of the West Tower of the Church of St Peter in Astley. It is made of grey sandstone and features a stepped plinth and capping, with the sides tapering inwards towards the plinth. The tomb commemorates members of the Croydon family, who were formerly of Hillhampton, although the inscription is largely illegible.
