Description

This is an early 19th-century coach house located on the east side of Main Street in Tilton on the Hill. The building is constructed of brick with an overhanging roof of Welsh slate. It is two stories high, originally with three bays, though a garage has been inserted to the left. The central bay features a wide archway topped with a finely gauged brick segmental arch. A round arched doorway is on the right-hand side, also featuring finely gauged brickwork, and a blocked window with a flat arched head sits beside it. Three upper windows, each with 20 lights, are set within finely gauged splayed brick heads. An axial brick stack is present. The building is listed for its group value within the surrounding historic landscape.
