Description

Manor Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse, originally listed as Manor House. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a later Welsh slate hipped roof. The main south front has five bays, with a central doorway and two 2-light mullioned and transomed windows with ovolo moulded frames on each side. The upper windows are also mullioned and transomed, but are more recent. Two gabled dormers are situated above the upper floor. The east elevation has three bays, featuring a central door recessed within a modern porch, surmounted by a 2-light ovolo molded mullioned overlight, and two further 2-light mullioned and transomed windows with ovolo moldings. There are two blocked windows above, and two more recent mullioned and transomed windows. A hipped roof is topped by two brick stacks. A lower wing extends to the north with an internal doorway and a 3-light casement window along the side, with a 2-light casement window above, both set within flat timber lintels.

Inside, a late 17th-century staircase features a carved rail and newels, alongside thick twisted balusters. There is 18th-century dado panelling and 18th-century doors throughout, consisting of two and three fine panels. A moulded stone fireplace and a large inglenook are also present.
