Description

Waterfall House is a cottage dating from the 17th century, which was raised by half a storey and dated 1883. The adjoining wall was built around 1800. The cottage is constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins, featuring a red brick upper floor at the rear, and has a Welsh slate roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The left gable is stone-coped, and the gable faces to the right.

The building has two storeys, with three 2-light casement windows with top lights and brick cambered lintels on the upper floor. The ground floor has three 3-light casement windows with wooden lintels. On the left-facing gable, there is a door, a small 20th-century bow window, and a single-light window above it. Extending from the right end of the cottage is a garden wall, which has an outhouse behind it, featuring a 3-light casement window, a loop hole, and a door.

Inside, there are stop-chamfered beams and principal rafters, likely from the original cottage. A tablet inscribed 'T.P. 1883' is located in the facing gable. The wall itself is made of coursed rubble stone with a red brick upper section and is approximately 1.5 to 2 meters high, topped with concrete coping. It extends from the end of the garden wall along the bank of Medbourne Brook to Manor Farmhouse, bordering the gardens of Waterfall House, Bentley's Yard, and Saddler's Cottage, which are also located on Waterfall Way.
