MEDBOURNE WATERFALL WAY (East Side) Waterfall House and Wall bordering Medbourne Brook

Cottage. C17, raised ½ storey and dated 1883. Wall.c1800. Coursed rubble stone with quoins, red brick rear 1st floor, and Welsh slate roof with brick ridge and end stacks. Stone coped left gable. Gable facing, front to right. 2 storeys of 3 2-light casements with top lights and brick cambered lintels. On ground floor 3 3-light casements with wooden lintels. On left facing gable a door, small C20 bow window, and 1-light over. Extending from right end a garden wall (outhouse behind) with 3-light casement, loop hole and door. Chamfered beams and principal rafters, probably of original cottage, inside. Tablet in facing gable inscribed 'T.P. 1883'. The wall is of coursed rubble stone with red brick upper part in small section. Concrete coped and cl½ - 2m high. It extends to the right from the end of the garden wall with outhouse behind, along the bank of Medbourne Brook to Manor Farmhouse (q.v.), bordering the gardens of Waterfall House, Bentley's Yard (not listed), and Saddler's Cottage (q.v.), both also in Waterfall Way.
