Description
The Old Ford Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was raised in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins, and the first floor is partly rendered brick. The roof is made of Welsh slate, featuring a brick ridge and end stacks. The left half of the front cants back to follow the angle of the lane. The cottage has two storeys, with two 3-light casements and one 2-light casement on the upper floor. Below, there are two 2-light casements, a 20th-century gabled porch with a door, and a combination of a 3-light and a 2-light window. On the right end, there is a French window, with two 2-light windows above it and a blocked 1-light window in the gable. Most of the windows have wooden lintels. Inside, the cottage features chamfered beams and an inglenook fireplace.
