Description

White Cottage is a late 18th-century brick house located on the west side of Main Street in Smeeton Westerby. The house has a Swithland slate roof and a ridge stack. The lower course of bricks is tarred, although the walls are now rendered. The east front of the house is two storeys high and three bays wide, with a gabled bay on the left. An off-centre doorway is topped with a flat hood supported by brackets, and has a partly glazed four-panel door. To the left of the door is a three-light sliding sash window with a flat arch. To the right is a similarly styled window. Above these, the left bay contains a small two-light sliding sash window, and the right bay has a three-light sliding sash window with a cambered arch.
