Description
Debdale Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of ironstone and brick, which is now rendered, and features a 20th-century asbestos tile roof with a coped north gable that has kneelers. The house has a ridge stack, a gable stack, and a lateral wall stack.
The west front of the building has two storeys and three bays. It includes a plinth and a first-floor band, with the wall above the band stepped back. The off-centre doorway has a wooden surround and a four-panel door. On either side of the door, there are single three-light casements. Above the door, to the right, is a light casement, with a tiny casement to its right. There is a single-storey outshut adjoining on the right side.
The north gable end wall is made of stone and features a plinth. It has a single 17th-century three-light casement, and above that, there is a three-light stone-framed and mullioned window with a hoodmould. Above this window, there is a blocked 17th-century garret window with a stone frame, mullion, and hoodmould. The east elevation has a first-floor band but does not have the stepped back feature above.
Inside, the farmhouse has low ceilings, heavy main beams, and joists.
