Description
Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse with attached former cottage, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick.
The building has an L-shaped plan with a two-unit central hall and stairway range running parallel to the street, and a kitchen wing extending to the rear. The house is roofed with 20th-century concrete tiles and has gable stacks. The cottage is roofed with Swithland slate and has a gable stack.
The east front faces onto the street and rises two storeys with three bays. A central doorway features a flat hood supported on brackets and has a four-panel door with glazed overlight. This doorway is flanked by single three-light casements. Above are three further three-light casements. All openings are topped with cambered arches. To the left is a single bay two-storey cottage with a lower roofline, featuring single three-light casements on each storey matching those of the main house. The south gable wall has a first-floor brick band, a small casement in the rear outshut, and a two-light casement above in the attic.
Internally, the building retains some panelled doors in their original surrounds. The kitchen contains chamfered and stopped ceiling beams. A detached former barn stands to the rear, which has been altered in the late 20th century and is not included in this listing.
