Description

This warehouse dates from the early 19th century and is located at the head of a canal basin near Union Wharf, which was completed in 1809. It is a red brick building with a roof of slates and pantiles, displaying a symmetrical design. The eastern facade is two storeys high, featuring paired segmental arched doorways at ground floor level, with a similar blank pair above. The outer sections of the facade have doorways on both floors, flanked by shuttered window openings, two of which are positioned between the central and outer ground floor doorways. The door jambs are rounded. The end facade is also of red brick, incorporating some grey headers, and has two louvred windows with segmental arches on the top floor.
